Roy Carbone, age 88, of West Bridgewater, died December 1, 2015, at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, following a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband for 57 years, of the late Regina E. “Jeannie” (Creighton) Carbone. Roy was born in Watertown, a son of the late Frank and Maria A. (Farina) Carbone, and was raised and educated in West Bridgewater.
Roy was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving at the end of the war, assisting with the closing concentration camps. He had been a foreman at the Whitman, Easton and P.T. Perkins Foundries. Roy loved to garden, work with wood, fish, and cook, especially Italian food. He also enjoyed watching all Boston sports teams.
Roy will be remembered as a compassionate man, whose true joy in life was his family, especially spending time with his granddaughters.
Roy is survived by two daughters Elaine Graves and her husband Wayne of Irvington, VA and Nancy Maloney and her husband Dennis of West Bridgewater; two granddaughters Colleen and Katie Maloney; a sister Santina Medeiros, and many nieces and nephews including Patrick and Barbara Creighton of Bridgewater and his good friends Jack and Diane Grew of West Bridgewater. He was the brother of the late Ralphina Burnham, Patrick Carbone, Camilla Mackey, Theresa Naples, Dominick and Frank Carbone.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater, at 10am. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery.
