Annie Laura Barnes Sanders, 88, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015, at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church in Tifton with Rev. Harold Barnes, Rev. Edsel Young, Rev. Silas Carver and Rev. Junior Morgan officiating. Mrs. Sanders will be laid to rest at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Friday, December 4, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church in Tifton.
Rick Sanders, Jamey Sanders, Matt Lewis, Jarrod Wellborn, Justin Wellborn and Larry McBrayer will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 17, 1927 in Louisville, Mississippi, Mrs. Sanders was the daughter of the late David Barnes and Emma Cherry Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Arthur Sanders, two brothers and a sister. She was a homemaker and member of Pineview Holiness Baptist Church in Tifton and assisted her husband in pastoring various churches for 40 years.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur “Tim” and Carol Sanders and Ricky Noel and Sharon Sanders, all of Tifton; five grandchildren, Rick Sanders, Jamey Sanders, Kimberly Lewis, Matt Lewis and Stacey Bryant; and two great-grandchildren, LeAnna Lewis and Libby Lewis.
