Obituary

New Bedford – Charles W. Brightman, 82, of North Dartmouth died Friday, June 3, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Irene (Boutin) Brightman.

He was born in New Bedford, son of the late Phillip O. and Josephine (Barriteau) Brightman, and was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Prior to retirement he was a laborer for Charles O. Lapre Construction Company, Tiverton and J.R.D. Construction Company, Assonet. Mr. Brightman was a member of the Laborer Local Union #610. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.

He is survived by 2 sons: Charles G. Brightman and his wife Joyce of N. Dartmouth and Paul D. Brightman and his wife Betty Lou of North Dartmouth; a daughter: Denise M. Brightman of N. Dartmouth; a sister: Harriet Paul of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren: Dennis P. Brightman and Kathy A. Brightman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Phillip O. Brightman, Kenneth Brightman, Winifred Silvia, Philauora Faria and Alice Brightman.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Monday 5 – 8 P.M.

Interment in South Dartmouth Cemetery, Dartmouth.
