NATICK - Matthew R. McLaughlin, age 46, of Natick and formerly of Newton, died peacefully after a brief illness at his home with his loving wife Erika at his side.
Born in Boston, the son of Edward McLaughlin and the late Judith (Riley) McLaughlin, he was raised in Newton and a 1986 Graduate of Newton-North High School. Most recently, Matthew lived in Natick with his wife, Erika, and was employed at Petco in Needham. His passion for pets was rewarded by his work caring for them at Petco and by caring for and playing with his cat and mice at home. Aside from his great pleasure of animals, Matthew enjoyed exploring all aspects of nature. One of Matt and Erika’s favorite pastimes even included watching nature programs on television.
In addition to his wife Erika, and his father Edward, Matthew is survived by his brother John McLaughlin of Los Angeles, California, and his sister Kathleen Cohen and her husband Allen of Saddle River, New Jersey. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews whom he most dearly enjoyed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick under the direction of John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.
