Patricia Louise Symmes, 77 of Union, Kentucky, passed November 23, 2015 at Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, Florida, following a short illness.
Patty was born November 12, 1938 in Tipton, IN to Maurice and Mary Butler.
Although she had spent her later years dividing her time between Kentucky and Florida, she had lived for a number of years in the Anderson area. A loving mother of three. Patty successfully ran three small businesses, a beauty parlor, a bar, and an antique business, before going to work for Guide Lamp from which she eventually retired. After retirement she went back and received her GED, an achievement she was proud of. A quick mind, a fiery temper and a tender heart were her hallmarks. She loved to fish, decorate, sew and make prize winning porcelain dolls. She contributed to Children's International and the St. Joseph's Lakota School.
She is survived by her oldest daughter, Robin L. (husband, Curt) Simpson; a daughter, Jill A. Emmering; a son, Rick W. Jackson D.V.M; a sister, Becky (husband, Larry) Coleman; and an uncle, Junior (wife, Doris) Bath.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. The burial will take place in Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield, IN.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be given to: Children's International or St. Joseph's Lakota School.
