Maureen Blanchette Pekarski passed away November 28, 2015 at Holy Family Hospital after suffering a sudden illness on Thanksgiving eve. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Maureen was a graduate of St. Laurence O’Toole Grammar School and St. Mary’s High School. She attended the former Bryant-McIntosh Junior College where she met her late husband of 36 years, Phillip A. Blanchette. Together they raised a family of eight children and made their home in the Prospect Hill neighborhood of Lawrence. Maureen was active in many church, social, and civic activities and took the greatest delight spending summers on Boar’s Head in Hampton Beach.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent Pekarski of Methuen, and her eight children; Brian of Lebanon, N.H., Kevin (Debbie) of Byfield; Peter (Jane) of Lawrence, Paul (Carol) of Peabody, Daniel of Methuen, Phillip (Kelly) of Newmarket, N.H., MaryKate (Dimitri) Karagiorgos of Methuen, and Patrick (Gloria) of Lawrence. Maureen leaves eleven grandchildren whom she adored as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Daniel H. and Helen (O’Neil) Sullivan.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday December 2nd at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. A burial will follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
