RAYNHAM – Robert J. Castro, husband of Lorraine (Ferreira) Castro of Raynham, died at Morton Hospital on Nov. 25, 2015.
He was 85.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Serafin and Mary (Vargas) Castro.
A 1948 graduate of Taunton High School, Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a co-owner of Hopper Feeds Engineering of Raynham for 35 years before retiring in 1995.
A communicant of St. Ann Church, he was a member of the Rayn-Water Fishing Club, and the American Legion Post 405, he was an avid reader, loved bass fishing, vegetable gardening, hunting, bee keeping, the Red Sox, and the New England Patriots.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert Castro, Jr. and his partner Harry Burer of Raynham, Michael Castro and his wife Karry of Stoughton; a brother, Joseph Castro of East Taunton; three grandchildren, Abigail, Natalie and Bridget Castro, all of Stoughton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family will be receiving visitors prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m.
