Ronald L. MacInnis, of Woburn formerly of Wilmington passed away peacefully November 25, 2015, at his home with his loving family by his side, following a three year courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of June M. (Crowell) and together they shared 38 years of marriage. Born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada he was the son of the late Ronald F. and Isabel (MacDonald) MacInnis.
Ronald came to the United States in 1956 at the age of seven with his family and settled in Wilmington where he was raised and educated and was a graduate of Wilmington High School. He married the love of his life, June, in 1977 and together they have resided in Woburn for the last 26 years. Ron worked for many years at Tufts University in the facilities maintenance department and later worked for many years with the former TYCO of Burlington where he retired from in 2012. Ronald enjoyed the outdoors and for many years he enjoyed camping in North Conway, NH with family and friends. He was happiest when he was with friends and family sitting around the fire pit enjoying each other’s company. He will fondly be remembered for his great sense of humor and his endless practical jokes he played on his children and family.
In addition to his beloved wife June, Ron is survived by his devoted children; Ronald l. MacInnis of Woburn, Dawn MacInnis and her partner Bruce Burke of Woburn, Adam MacInnis and his wife Sandy of Nashua, NH. He was the loving grandfather of Aurora Burke, Eric, Ryan, Jayden and Aubrey MacInnis. Cherished brother of Daniel MacInnis and his wife Karen of Wilmington, Bruce MacInnis and his wife Karen of Salisbury, James MacInnis and his wife Jayne of Billerica, Kathy MacInnis and her husband Richard Ginsburg of Tewksbury, Lorraine Ronan and her husband Scott of Billerica. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service celebrating Ron's life will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Sunday, November 29th, at 7 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 4 thru 7 p.m. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ron's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
