Obituary

Noël Frances (Dymond) Cross, of Pembroke, passed peacefully into rest on November 25, 2015 after a brief illness.

Born outside of Seoul, Korea in 1956, Noël was adopted and raised in Hanson by her parents, the late Edward and Ruth Dymond.

An active member of the community, Noël found immense joy in the students she mentored as both a teacher and soccer coach in the Pembroke and Silver Lake school districts for over 15 years. In addition to soccer and history, travel, charity work, and the arts were a few of Noël's passions, but there was nothing she was more passionate about than her family. She was the loving wife for over 35 year to Gerd Cross; proud mother to her children, Dr. Megan Hannon and her husband John of Pembroke, Matthew Cross of Manhattan, Nicole Cross of Arlington, and Jonathan Cross of Portland; devoted (and adored) "Noe" to Lily, Stella, Poppy, and Maisy Hannon.

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Monday, November 30, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Pembroke, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at 10:00 AM, followed by her funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 580 Monponsett Street, (Route 58), Halifax, at 11:00 AM.

Interment services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Noël requested donations be made to Me & Korea (meandkorea.org), an organization that made it possible for her to travel back to Korea last fall for the first time to visit the place where she was born. Noël touched so many people during her too-short life, and her family would also request that anyone with a special story or memory of Noël email those to [email protected] for a keepsake book they will be putting together to keep her spirit alive.
