Fall River – Manuel S. Pimentel, 68, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the Maria Graca (Freitas) Pimentel.
Born in Furnas, São Miguel, a son of the late Deodate Pimentel Medeiros and Maria Conceicao Viera, he immigrated in 1970 and resided in Fall River for the last 45 years.
Manuel worked for Essex Mfg. as a clothing-presser and shuttled many families and friends to and from the airports with his van.
He was devoted to his family, and most proud of his grandchildren. He Loved everything sports, Boston Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics and Benfica.
He is survived by two sons, Peter Pimentel and his wife Diane Silva Pimentel of Lincoln, RI and Jeffrey Pimentel, Emanuel Furtado of Fall River, and Samuel Almeida who he cared for very much and considered like a son of Fall River; two sisters, Liduina Dutra of Fall River, Maria José Lima of Westport; four brothers, Jaime Pimentel, João Luis Pimentel of Fall River, Carlos Medeiros of Westport and Joseph Medeiros of Fall River; two grandchildren Alexander and Cynthia Pimentel of Lincoln, RI and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eulalia Tavares.
His funeral will be held Saturday, November, 28, 2015, at 7:45 a.m. from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 North Main Street, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 189 Essex Street Fall River.
