Mr. Donald R. Collier, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Doris H. (James) Collier, passed away at home on Monday morning, November 23, 2015. He was 84 years old.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on January 4, 1931, he was the beloved son of the late Howard L. and Marie (Ross) Collier. Mr. Collier worked for the Medford Housing Authority as a Maintenance Man for many years. In his spare time Donald enjoyed gardening around his home and was a gifted handyman. Following his retirement, Donald and Doris enjoyed living in Long Boat Key, Florida. He will be dearly missed.
Donald is survived by his loving children; Jody R. Collier of Malden and Donald R. Collier, Jr. of Exeter, New Hampshire, siblings; Gerald, Clifton and John Warren Collier and Frances Ghidella and Donna Collier; grandchildren Allison, Brian, Christopher, Donald III, Craig, Jocelyn, great-grandchildren; Rylie, Evan, Brook and Calvin and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the First Baptist Church, 29 Oakland Street, Medford on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Sunday, November 29, 2015, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
