Helen Colananni (née Chapla) died peacefully on Saturday November 21, 2015 in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Helen was born to parents Stanley and Josephine Chapla on February 25, 1927 in West Rutland, Vermont. She grew up in a loving family with four brothers and three sisters and attended West Rutland High School. Upon graduation, she attended and completed the U.S. Cadet Nursing Program to become a registered nurse, working at hospitals across the country. Helen honorably served in the U.S. Air force as First Lieutenant from 1956 to 1959. She was stationed in Japan for two years.
Helen married Paul Colananni in 1960, and the couple had two children. Helen continued to work as a registered nurse for many years. Helen is survived by her husband, Paul; brothers & sisters, Josephine Chapla, Sophia Chapla, Henry Chapla, Mary Hoffman; her daughter, Ann Rowe (John); her son, Mark Colananni (Beth) and her three grandchildren, John, Amy and Brian.
