Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 22, 2015. Stan was born January 30, 1926 on a farm near Flom, Minnesota. He proudly served on the U.S.S. Karnes during World War II. He married Peggy in 1949 and they had 49 wonderful years together. In 2002, he got a second chance at happiness and stayed very busy with traveling and other escapades with Laura. Stan had a long, successful career as a plant engineer at 3M, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a wonderful father, husband, and grandfather with a tender heart and a quick wit. He served as a longtime active member and a deacon at North Presbyterian Church. He will be greatly missed by all who love him. Preceded in death by his parents, Leslie & Myrtle Moore; wife, Margaret “Peggy”; and son, Alan. Survived by his wife, Laura Kahnke-Moore; children, Gary (Cathy), Craig, Karen (Denny); grandchildren, Nils, Jon, Kirsten, Adam, Jeremy, Jennifer, Joe, Megan; step-children, JoAnn (Bob), Jerome (Jan), Donna (Tom), Peggy (Bill), Randy (Lizz); step-grandchildren, Shawn, Mitchell, Brett, Taylor, Mackenzie, Ashley, Leah, Bridget, Nicole, Natalie, Jacob, Joe, Ben, Peter; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Anderson, Skip (Shirley); brother-in-law Roy (Marlene) Cowen; sister-in-law Audrey Salkowicz; and by many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11 AM Monday, November 30, 2015 at North Presbyterian Church, 2675 E. Hwy 36, North St. Paul with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
