Obituary

WORCESTER-Sheila M. Howe, 56 of 10 Calumet Avenue died Monday, May 13th in her home after an illness. She leaves her parents Francis V. and Gertrude H. (O’Leary) Howe with whom she lived, her sister Maureen A., wife of Worcester County Treasurer Michael J. Donoghue, a nephew, Thomas M. Donoghue of Worcester, 2 nieces, Colleen A. Fahey of Auburn and Brenda M. Seaver of Worcester, a great nephew and a great niece.

Ms. Howe was born in Worcester and had lived here all her life. She had been a radiology transcriber at UMass Medical Center for the past 26 years. Previously she had worked as a medical secretary at State Mutual Assurance now known as Allmerica. Ms. Howe was a graduate of Ascension High School and Salter Secretarial School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and a former member of St. Stephen’s Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and was an avid reader.

The funeral will be Thursday, May 16th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 15th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to either UMass-Memorial Hospice Program, 650 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605 or the Visiting Nurse Association, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
