Gale L. (Marra) Connulty, 78, of New Bedford passed away at home on Monday November 16, 2015 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Connulty.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Joseph and Eunice (Miller) Marra, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Many years ago, she was employed in the business office of Hemingway Transport.
Mrs. Connulty was a member of the Wamsutta Club.
She loved spending time with her family and socializing with her friends. She was very proud of her family's accomplishments. She loved her home and her neighborhood.
She is survived by three children, Stephen W. Connulty and his wife Barbara of Dartmouth, Lisa Gale Connulty-Costa and her husband John of Fairhaven, and Carolyn Genovese and her husband Gregory of Cold Spring Harbor, NY; two sisters, Joyce Young and her husband Roy and Shirley Whiteacre and her husband Carl, all of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Kristen and Colleen Connulty, Nicholas, Timothy, and Olivia Genovese; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Richard Marra, David Marra, and Joan Nichols.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial private. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
