Mary Jane Sheterom Allison née Counsman of New Bedford, Massachusetts, formerly of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, died Monday, November 16, 2015 at the age of 83.
She was born on February 1, 1932 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Eugene and Dolores Mary Counsman née Bender.
Mary Jane married Daniel R. Sheterom in 1953 and Ronald Roy Allison in 1967, both at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronald Roy Allison; her three sons, Daniel Sheterom and his partner Earl Taylor, Jeffrey Allison and his partner Eric Pedro, Timothy Allison and his wife, Donna; son-in-law Sal Fernandes and daughters-in-law, Wendy Allison née Sisson and Noreen Arsenault née Mehigan; sixteen grandchildren and their families; twenty-four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Jane is also survived by her sister, Joan Linda Ruehr DeStefano neé Counsman, sisters-in-law, Naomi Ruth Beach née Sheterom, Bonnie J. Barry née Lee, and Patricia Sylvia née Allison, and brother-in-law, Scott Lee and their families.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Richard Sheterom; brother-in-law, Robert Sylvia , great-granddaughter, Isobel Allison; sister-in-law, Marie Joann Fornwalt née Sheterom; and by her Daughter Theresa Maria Fernandes née Allison.
She was a 1950 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She loved all things family, all things Irish and all things happy. She will really enjoy Heaven.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 11 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Martyr, Roman Catholic Church in New Bedford at 12 Noon.
