Claire A. McCauley of Hyannis, formerly of Provincetown, died Wednesday, November 11th after a short battle with cancer.
Born July 30, 1963, Claire grew up in Queens, NY. She attended Mater Christi High School and Queens College. For several years, she worked for the New York City Department of Education as an aide with disabled children.
In 1992, she moved to Provincetown with her partner, Claire Almazan. She worked as a cook at several Provincetown restaurants, and made a career of mothering a bevy of feline friends.
She is survived by her brother, Francis McCauley, her sisters, Anne Siemer, Patricia Mittler, and Jeannette McCauley, three nephews, two nieces, a grandniece and two grandnephews.
