Natalie M. (Fratto) Byers passed away peacefully at the Courtyard Nursing Home in Medford. She was 91. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Concetta (Iritano) Fratto. A Medford resident for most of her life, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. During the travels and deployments of her husband’s naval career, she stayed connected with her family. Her loving and caring nature as the family matriarch, made her home a welcoming place where she loved cooking for and entertaining family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Commander Donald F. Byers, she was a devoted mother to John Byers and his wife Sandra of Medford, Paul Byers of Sandwich, David Byers of Charlotte N.C., and Richard Byers of Wilmington. A loving grandmother to John Byers, Philip Byers and his wife Stephanie, Danielle Byers- Anderson and her husband Robert and a loving great-grandmother of Philip Byers Jr she was the dear sister of Louis Fratto and Loretta Raso. Natalie is survived by her devoted niece Janet Ianessa and many other loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday November 17th at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Monday 4-8 PM.
