Dean Callahan, 58, of Yulee passed away Thursday afternoon, November 12, 2015 at the Community Hospice Warner Center in Fernandina Beach while surrounded by his family.
Mr. Callahan was born January 27, 1957 in Lake City, FL and moved to Yulee 28 years ago from Jacksonville, FL.
He was a member of The River of Praise Worship Center where he also served on the Pastor's Council and as Head Usher. He was the most amazing and wonderful husband and a wonderful father. He loved Jesus and was a devoted Christian.
Mr. Callahan was predeceased by a daughter, Lupita Santos and by his father, Willard Oliver Callahan.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Guadalupe "Lupe" Callahan of Yulee, FL; their children, Jenee Watkins (James) of Yulee, FL, Cody Callahan of Hilliard, FL, Maria Isabel Beaty (Robert) of Yulee, FL and Cookie Moreno-Argueta (Jose) of Jacksonville, FL; his parents, Bobby "Pops" and Jacqueline Crews of Suwannee River, FL; a sister and brother in law, Joann and Stanley Herrington of Hilliard, FL; six grandchildren, Julie Lynn, Jaelynn, Braylen, Aracely, Dulce and Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 16, at The River of Praise Worship Center, 83410 St. Marks Drive, Yulee, FL 32097 with Bishop Larry Osburn officiating. Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the Church.
