José Manuel Minaya Santos, 62, of Lawrence, MA passed away on November 5, 2015, after battling health issues related to his liver. He is survived by Moraliza Reyna Minaya, his three daughters, Melissa and her husband, Bruce Wilson, Joeliza and her husband, Isaac Cuevas, Harlisa and her fiancé, Steven Branch along with three grandchildren, Olivia, Emilia and Andre. José had a supportive family in Lawrence as well as in his beloved country, Dominican Republic. He is also survived by his siblings Digna and her husband Danilo Perez, Lourdes, Lucia and her husband Julio Contreras, Alejandro and his wife Grissel, Heriberto and his wife Rosa, Julio and his wife Gladys along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aquilino and Juana, and his sisters Ludovina, Cristina, Valeriana Luz Maria, Dina Maria and Maria Cristina.
José was a gentle and loving man who was very proud of his family. He often spoke about them to his friends and anyone that would listen, especially about his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time in Santo Domingo and in particular he loved warm weather, going to the beach and eating the foods of his native country. José will always be remembered for his vibrant spirit, and contagious laugh.
