Obituary

Charlton_ Ronald P. Bailey, Sr., 65, of Charlton Depot, died Sunday, May 29, in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Bertha M. (Rooney) Bailey; two sons, Ronald P. Bailey Jr, and his wife Theresa of Millbury and Joseph Bailey and his wife Jinette of Oxford; three daughters, Susan Bailey and Elizabeth Bailey, both of Worcester, and Ruth Bailey of Charlton; six grandchildren, Jo-Ann of Oxford; Christina of Millbury; Gabrielle, Patrisha and Sean all of Worcester and Kelsey of Charlton. A sister, Patricia Parson, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Ruth DeMars and lived there many years before moving to Charlton Depot. He attended Commerce High School in Worcester. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the ocean. His biggest pleasure was his family and grandchildren.

Mr. Bailey worked at Heald Machine in Worcester as a sheet metal worker for many years.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era.

The funeral will be held Thursday, June 2, with a service at 10 a.m. in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
