Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected death of Jonathan Joseph "JJ" Salvail on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at the age of 28.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Donald R. and Dawn (Bruce) Salvail of Acushnet, he lived in Acushnet all of his life.
JJ was employed as a landscaper with Maffei Landscaping in Mashpee. He had also worked as a senior caddie at the Kittansett Country Club in Marion.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Associated Training Services for Heavy Equipment Operators in New Hampshire.
In his youth, he played baseball and basketball for A.Y.A.A. and later played basketball and lacrosse at New Bedford High School.
JJ was known for his amazing smile and infectious personality. He had a talent for making everyone smile and was a loving brother and uncle. Throughout his young life he touched so many people and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Marc Salvail and his wife Ashley, and Matthew Salvail, all of Acushnet; a niece, Kendyl Salvail; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet at 10 AM. Burial will be in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-6 PM.
