E. Lorraine Medairos, 86, formerly of Derry, NH, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born in Roxbury, MA on March 30, 1929, a daughter of the late William and Anne (Carroll) Walsh. Mrs. Medairos was a lifetime member of both the VFW Post #1617 and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Derry. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. She was active with several veterans groups and enjoyed volunteering. Lorraine loved trips to Foxwoods and going shopping.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances Paling and husband Ed of CT, Rita Estes and husband Roger of TN, and Mary Ann Stanley and husband John of Deerfield, NH; two sons, William J. Medairos of Acworth, NH and Steven R. Medairos and wife Debbie of Allenstown, NH; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, one great great granddaughter, two sisters, Rita Lacey of Foxboro, MA, and Mary Amidon of Newport, RI; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William Medairos in 1999 as well as one sister, Anne Aries, and five brothers, William Walsh, Gerald Walsh, James Walsh, Michael Walsh and Thomas Walsh.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 1 - 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services were held on Monday November 9th at 10:00am in the funeral home with burial that followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry.
