Voncile B. Sirmans, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Mrs. Sirmans was born October 23, 1933, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Albert & Lillian Bryant Barrs. A graduate of Irwin County High School, she worked in the office for TG&Y and later Wal-Mart. Shopping and traveling were her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed spoiling her cats and loved to spend time with and cook for her family, especially her granddaughter. She was an active member of Crossview Baptist Church where she participated in the Golden Believers group, served on the Bereavement Committee and was a member of the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday school class.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Al & Melissa Sirmans of Fitzgerald and a granddaughter, Allison Sirmans, a student at Georgia Southern University. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Sirmans and a brother, Jerome Barrs.
