Grace E. Musante, 91, of Mystic passed away at her home at Academy Point on October 27, 2015.
She was born in Mystic, August 10, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Charles Beauchamp and Charlotte (Smith) Beauchamp. Grace was born in the home she occupied for 85 years until moving to Academy Point.
She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Russell W. Musante, Sr., brother Walter Beauchamp, sister Bess Happel. She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Musante) d’Albenas and her husband Timothy d’Albenas of Old Saybrook; and her son Russell W. Musante, Jr. and his wife Gail (Maxson) Musante of Mystic. Grace has four grandchildren Russell W. Musante, III; Mallory Musante; Christi d’Albenas; Kara (d’Albenas) Newby and her husband Caleb, and their son, Grace’s great-grandson, Charlie. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Beauchamp, and his wife, Ethel, and many nieces and nephews.
Grace was a lifelong resident of Mystic, Connecticut of which she felt there was no better place on Earth. Grace’s greatest contribution throughout her life was being known for loving her friends and family deeply. As a young child, when her mother passed away at an early age, she took on the role of taking care of the family. She and her siblings found solace by standing together as a family. Her loved ones have countless stories of her joking antics and silly songs she sang. In many ways, she led an extraordinary life which can be summed up in her love for her family, her friends, and her faith. One grandchild put it simply, “Our lives were graced by her presence.” Grace undeniably lived up to her name.
The family has asked friends and family to join them for a Celebration of Life at the Old Mystic Baptist Church on Shewville Road on November 20, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Groton Human Services Food Locker at 2 Fort Hill Road, Groton, CT 06340.
