Mary Patricia Craig 68, "Patty" "Mary Pat" of Natick died unexpectedly Friday, October 23rd at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham.
Born in Natick and a lifelong resident she was the beloved daughter of the late John H. Jr. and Mary A. (Cronin) Craig.
Ms. Craig was the Curriculum Librarian at Framingham State University for 43 years retiring in 2010.
Patty was dedicated to helping others in her community as an active volunteer at the Natick Food Pantry, Natick Service Council, and was involved in Town government in the Natick Democratic Town Committee, as a Town Meeting Member and Member of the Town Finance Committee.
Also loved to travel abroad with her family and friends, and to relax on the beach in Aruba and Cape Cod wearing one of her beach hats. Patty was well known for her great baking talents and would readily share her delicious Christmas cookies, blueberry cake and lemon deserts.
She loved to read and was a longtime member of the Nobscot Reading Association, and Founding member of the David McCord Children’s Literature Festival Committee.
Patty was a tireless power walker around Natick for many years enjoying the walks with friends at a brisk pace. Patty was a sports fan especially of the New England Patriots.
She was a dear friend to many who will miss her love, laugh, and generous spirit.
She was a graduate of Bridgewater State University class of 1969, attended the Natick School system graduating from Natick High School class of 1965.
She was the devoted sister of John Craig and his fiancé Helen Goldberg of Ashland, Carol Craig O'Brien and husband Robert O'Brien of Falmouth and was the dearly loved aunt of Molly O'Brien of Falmouth.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 10:00 A.M..
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Interment St Patrick Cemetery.
