Obituary

Maureen Bucklin, 59, of Derry, NH died Friday May 27, 2005 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mrs. Bucklin was born in Everett, MA on May 24, 1946 a daughter of the late, William J. and Dorothy (Merchant) Hooley. She was a resident of Derry and E. Derry for the past 36 years, formerly living in Everett. Mrs. Bucklin was the President of Royal Modeling Academie in E. Derry for 15 years. She was the New England Director for the Miss National Teenager Pageants and Director of America’s Favorite Pre-Teen. She was also Director of the New England Royal Pageant. In addition, she was the bookkeeper for Bucklin-Myhaver Tire Co. in Derry for over 20 years. Mrs. Bucklin had been a writer and photographer for the Derry Sun newspaper during its operation. During the 1970's she was active in Derry politics and worked on several local political campaigns.

She is survived by her daughter, Judi Arsenault and her husband Carl of Derry, one grandson, Zachary Arsenault of Derry, two brothers, William Hooley of Manchester, Frederick Hooley of Florida and Derry. Also several nieces and one nephew.

Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday June 1st from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 10:00am in the First Parish Church, Hampstead Rd., E. Derry. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
