Richard J. McKenna, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 23, 2015 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following an extended illness. He was 69 years old.
Richard was born in Boston on August 23, 1946, a son of the late Daniel McKenna and Mary (Magee) McKenna. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Richard worked as a cook, and other positions, for Sodexo for over 15 years.
Richard is the beloved brother of Paul McKenna and his wife Mary of Charlestown, Maureen Campbell and her husband Danny of Walpole, and the late Frankie McKenna, Mary McKenna, Anna Luciano, Sonny McKenna, and Agnes Prendable. He is the loving uncle to Donna Prendable of Charlestown, Michele Chandler of Charlestown, and many other nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard’s visiting hours on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from 3 to 7 P.M. with his Funeral Service at 6:30 PM in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
