CURTIN, Mary Daly, 80, raised in Brighton and St. Columbkille Parish, went to our Lord on October 18, 2015. A resident of North Hill, Needham, formerly of Wellesley, Mary was the beloved wife of the late John J. Curtin Jr. Dearly loved mother of Kevin Curtin, and his wife Susan Jeghelian of Wellesley, Catherine and her husband Peter Dyroff of Duxbury, Joe and his wife Carolyn of Wellesley, Ann and her husband Deacon Paul Carroll of Sherborn, and Dan and his wife Kristen of Wellesley. Cherished grandmother to Jaclyn, Mikaela, Paige, John, Dan, Matt, Jessica, Francesca, Jack, Luke, Michael, Cammie Grace, and Declan.
Mary was a graduate of Regis College in Weston. Before marrying, she taught the first grade at Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart. Throughout her life she was devoted to public service in Wellesley and the surrounding communities. Together with her husband, they established the Curtin Center for Public Interest Law at Boston College Law School, which annually provides scholarship stipends to law students pursuing public interest causes and careers. She also was a certified art therapist and a wonderful artist. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family will miss her greatly.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Thursday, Oct. 29 at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Rd., Wellesley Hills at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 4-8pm. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
