Obituary

Joseph L. “Mickey” Cahill, 75 of Florida St. died Sunday at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lorraine (Ducas) Cahill. He was born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Ward) Cahill.
Mickey was an army veteran and a graduate of Bryant College. He worked as an accountant for DCYF for many years before retiring in 2007. He managed and coached Bernon Little League for over 30 years. Mickey also managed the concession stand at Ayotte Field for many years as well. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by three sons; Michael Cahill of Woonsocket, Brian Cahill of Warwick, and Robert Cahill of Woonsocket, a daughter, Joye Cahill of Woonsocket, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers; John Cahill of Norfolk, VA, John Niewola of Somerset MA, and William Niewola, Michael Niewola, Raymond Niewola, all of Fall River, and a sister, Julia Charrette of FL. He was also the brother of the late Edward Niewola, and Margaret Shephard.

His funeral with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave, Woonsocket. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd, East Providence, RI 02914.
