Obituary

Louis J. Bonasera, 73, passed away early Friday morning at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, in Reading following a brief illness. He was the husband of Mary C. “Tina” (Pasciuto).

Born and raised in the West End of Boston his family later settled in Medford over sixty years ago. Louis was the son of the late Maria (Zanelli) and Carlo Bonasera. Louis graduated from Medford High School, he entered the building trades and became a finished carpenter with over thirty-five years of experience in his trade. He was member of Local 218 and over the years he worked on many of the major construction projects in greater Boston. Later in his career he owned his own construction company doing much work in the local community.

Surviving in addition to his wife Tina are his children, Louis C. Bonasera and his wife Kristin of Merrimac, MA., Marianne R. Zilonis and her husband Stephen of Scituate and Paul C. Bonasera of Amesbury. He was the loving “Puppie” of Abigail, Andrew, Alexandra and Jack. Brother of Evelyn Peracchi of Somerville.

His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Wednesday, June 1, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Somerville - Medford at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
