Gladys M. (McDonald) Dean, 88, of New Bedford died May 26, 2005 at The Oaks Nursing Home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Raymond H. Dean.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Charles McDonald and Ruth M. (Dunham) Murdock, she lived in Acushnet most of her life before moving to Olympia Towers in New Bedford 4 years ago.
She was a member of the Acushnet-Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dean was formerly employed by the John I. Paulding Company in New Bedford for 25 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the United Auto Workers, Local #899.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul R. Dean of New Bedford; a daughter, Carole A. Means, and her husband James, of New Bedford; her former daughter-in-law, Winna Dean of Onset; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, several cousins.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Thursday, June 2nd at 9:45AM. Funeral Services at the Acushnet-Wesley United Methodist Church at 11 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday, June 1st from 5-8 PM.
Interment private.
