Catherine M. Bondi, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, October 16, 2015 at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Bondi and together they shared 47 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1999. Born in Woburn Catherine was one of eight children of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Hooper) Day.
Catherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her main focus in life and nothing gave more joy than making sure the needs of her family were taken care of. Catherine was somewhat of a homebody always making sure her home was a warm and welcoming place for family and friends to gather. For many years Catherine was an avid bowler and participated in many leagues at the Woburn Bowladrome. She also enjoyed traveling and in later years enjoyed attending bingo with friends.
Catherine is lovingly survived by her devoted children; Deborah O'Neill and her husband Patrick of Billerica, Donna Santo and her husband Andy, Trisha Bondi, Eugene "Gene" Bondi, all of Woburn, Lynne Donovan and her husband Jim of Billerica. She was the loving grandmother of nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Cherished sister of Frances Sheridan, Jean D'Entremont, Joseph Day all of Stoneham, James Day of Reading, John Day of Woburn. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husband, Catherine is predeceased by her son, Joseph Bondi, grandsons Patrick and Kevin O'Neill, her twin sister Mary Murphy and sister, Joan Gilmartin.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, October 21st, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Catherine's memory to the charity of one's choice.
