Obituary

Whitman – John P. Sallustio 87, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Wednesday October 14 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Eva (Gabriele) Sallustio.

Born and raised in Italy, John immigrated to the United States in the 1950’s and had worked at former Quincy Ship Yard.

He had been a resident of Whitman for over 40 years, where he and his wife raised their three daughters. Prior to his retirement he had been employed many years at the DPW of Whitman.

He enjoyed learning about history and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his daughters Francine Sallustio and Anna Sallustio both of Brockton and Bernadine Echavarry of Georgia as well as 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

His services will be held Tuesday October 20 at 9:45 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Monday October 19 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
