Obituary

Frank Salvi Columbus, 70, of Sandown, NH, passed Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Care Center in Derry, NH. Mr. Columbus was born January 7, 1945 in Lynn, MA and was a son of the late Salvi and Esther (Chambers) Columbus. He was raised and educated in Saugus, MA, and had been a longtime resident of Sandown.
Mr. Columbus served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, after which he worked at Columbia Screw Co., W.T. Grant and for many years for Dr. Pet Centers, setting up store fronts and as a sales rep. After retirement, he worked as a Security Officer with Reliable Security. He enjoyed fishing and making his own fishing lures. He also enjoyed following politics and news on CNN.
Members of the family include his daughter, Charlene Columbus of Raymond, NH, his son and his wife, Chris and Holly Columbus of Litchfield, NH, two grandchildren, Nathan and Alexandra Columbus, a brother, Leonard Columbus and his sister, Geraldine Jeanes, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
After cremation, a memorial service was celebrated, Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 10 to 11 am with services at 11 am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. The burial followed in the Center Cemetery in Sandown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans Association, at www.dav.org. or to NEADS (National Education for Assistance Dog Services) PO Box 1100, Princeton, MA 01541.
