Obituary

WESTON: Hilda (Crouse) Butcher, 99, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 8, 2015 following a period a declining health.
She was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada on December 25, 1915 the daughter of the late John Crouse and Ida (Zinck) Crouse.
Hilda is survived by her devoted and loving son Ronald B. Butcher and his wife Kristine Butcher of Keene, NH and the late Richard J. Butcher who died on September 16, 2014. Beloved grandmother of Kimberly A. Butcher-Pope of Urbandale, IA; Alexis Morton and her husband Scott Morton of Bedford, NH and John McHenry and his wife Lisa McHenry of Aldie, VA. Cherished great-grandmother of Nicholas, Emma and Dylan Pope; Theodore Morton and Meghan Hannemann and Kaitlyn and Madison McHenry.Sister of Marjorie Radford of British Columbia, Canada; Alice Fraser of Lunenberg, Nova Scotia, Canada and Phillip Crouse of Day Spring, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was the wife of the late Irvin John Butcher who died in 1974.
Hilda resided in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia, Canada until the age of 13 and moved to Brighton, MA with her family. She has been a resident of Weston for over 61 years and proudly resided for the last 8 years at the Brooks School Apartments where she met many friends.
For over 40 years, Hilda was known as the AVON lady in Weston and she was always dressed with style and flair and perfect makeup. In her earlier years she was a sales lady for the Chandler Department Store of Boston. She was a longtime and active member of the Weston United Methodist Church and with the Council on Aging in Weston. She always had a positive attitude about life and lived it to the fullest and reminded everyone that if they keep busy and active they would have a long life. One of her favorite events was attending the Weston Firemans Ball with her table of lady friends and the attention that everyone, especially the firefighters, gave her. At last years event she shared with them to come by and give her a kiss because she wouldn’t be dancing this year. She was an outgoing, loving and very spirited woman for her 99 years and will be fondly remembered and missed by everyone who had the chance to know her.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of her Life on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Weston United Methodist Church, 377 North Avenue( Rte 117), Weston.

Private family interment will be held for her family in the Butcher family lot in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
In lieu of flowers her family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Hilda’s memory may be sent to the Weston United Methodist Church and would be greatly appreciated.
