Alfred D. Mello, age 69 of Somerset, passed away on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Denise (LaFrance) Mello and the son of the late Joseph & Mary J. (Zemalis) Mello Jr. He was a 21 yr. veteran of the US Marine Corp. having served 3 Tours of Duty in Vietnam. Prior to retiring, Alfred worked for Lightolier Mfg. as a Materials Handler and previously for the US Postal Service in Syracuse, NY. He was a member of the South Swansea Baptist Church, Marine Corp League, and enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, & cooking.
In addition to his wife of Somerset, he is survived by his stepson: Joseph Borges (wife Melissa) of Seattle, WA; his sister: Sandra St. Rock (husband Normand) of Fall River; several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.
His Calling Hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 from 4-8 P.M. with a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA. Cremation to follow. Kindly Omit Flowers. www.rogersfuneral.com.
