AUBURN___Alfred F. Wawiernia, Jr., 52, of Auburn died Monday May 23.
He leaves his wife, Joan A. (Rose) Wawiernia of Auburn; two daughters, Jill M. Wawiernia of Oxford and Kelly B. Wawiernia of Lowell; a sister, Mary Lou A. Petty of Worcester and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Alfred F. Wawiernia, Sr., and Genevieve D. (Pietrewicz) Wawiernia. He graduated from Holy Name High School, Worcester and the State Police Academy.
Mr. Wawiernia was a campus police officer and Sergeant for Holy Cross College Campus Police and worked there 15 years. He also held multi business interests owning two package stores and a cab. He once worked several years in quality control for David Clark Co.
The funeral will be held on Friday May 27 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, Worcester with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. NOON in St. John Church, 40 Temple St, Worcester. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster.
