Rene J. Pagé , 86

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Rene J. Pagé age 86, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of the late Edna J. (Williams) Page, to whom he was wed for over 40 years at the time of her death on May 26, 1996.
Born in Putnam, CT on July 12, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Dieudonne M. and Antonia (Marchesseault) Page.
Rene grew up and was educated in Danielson, CT. He spent two years in the seminary prior to graduating from Killingly High School, and furthered his education, graduating from the University of Connecticut.
During the Korean War, Rene proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged on June 15, 1955 with the rank of Radioman Third Class.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 52 years, Mr. Pagé had worked as a realtor for the Ed Pariseau Real Estate Co. in Mansfield, prior to retiring. He had previously been employed for many years at Western Union, where he served as a Communication Correspondent and as a District Manager of New England.
Rene was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. He loved spending time with his family, and his hobbies included golf, woodworking, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. He was also an avid sports fan, his favorite teams being the Red Sox and Patriots.
He is survived by his devoted children Richard A. Page of Millis, Cheryl A. Look and her husband Milton of North Carolina, Darlene F. Cummings of Mansfield and Michelle R. Zahn and her husband Robert of North Carolina. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew, Dan, Renee, Erin, Colleen, Curtis, Ashley, Shawn and the late Andrea. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, his longtime companion Marilyn Letteney, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 bothers and 2 sisters.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend graveside services with military honors on Thursday, October 15th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 Franklin St., Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Rene’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
