Obituary

Rose M. Macdonald, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away peacefully October 7, 2015, at her home following a lengthy illness. Rose was the beloved wife of R. Al Macdonald and together they shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Woburn she was one of eleven children of the late Peter and Rose (Brown) Pandolph.

Raised and educated in Woburn, Rose was a 1949 graduate of Woburn High School. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953 and honorably served during the Korean War. Rose was a proud veteran and looked back fondly on her time in service. Family was Rose's main focus in life. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She cherished the good times and having fun with her family and many dear friends. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed hosting holidays and family gatherings. Rose also enjoyed dancing and going to play bingo with her friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Rose is survived by her devoted children, Susan Bosworth and her husband Bruce of OR, Beverly Quattrocchi and her husband Larry of VA, Mark Macdonald of Billerica, Wendy Adams and her husband Keith of Middleton, Robyn Arena and her husband Geo of Billerica, and devoted stepmother of Patricia Minkle and her husband Eddie of Middleboro, Rhonda Marnell and husband Steve of Medford, Alan Macdonald of NH and Greg O'Donnell and his wife Kim of IN. She was the loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mother-in-law of Lorrie Macdonald. Sister of Sophie Kearns, Anthony Pandolph and his wife Janice, Marion Barchard, the late Mary McDonough, Anne Saunders, Barbara Miele and her surviving husband Sam, Frank and his surviving wife Annette, Angelo, Sonny and his surviving wife Connie, and the late Peter Pandolph, all of Woburn. Rose is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, October 14th, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Rose' memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
