SALEM- Phyllis M. (Cameron) Locke, 88, of Salem, wife of the late Byron T. Locke, died Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2005 at her home.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (MacMillan) Cameron.
Prior to her retirement in the 1980's, Mrs. Locke was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Salem school system for over 20 years and taught at the former Pickering School and the Bates School. A resident of Salem for most of her life, she was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Salem, and the North Shore Republican Club. She received her bachelors degree in education from Salem State Teachers College.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Byron H. and Donna Locke, John A. and Marjorie Locke, George T. and Virginia Locke, all of Salem, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at noon in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem.
