James M. Maney, age 48, of Norton passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
Born in West Roxbury, MA on November 4, 1966, he was a loving son of the late James P. Maney and Rita (Downing) Long.
Jim grew up in Norton and was a 1985 graduate of Norton High School. For the majority of his working career he was a skilled self-employed carpenter and painter.
Jim was a resident of Norton for most of his life and had attended St. Mary’s Church in Norton.
His favorite times spent were those amongst family and friends. He loved kayaking on the Norton Reservoir, camping and held a special place in his heart for animals.
He is survived by his son Sean P. Maney. He was the brother of Edward J. Long of Braintree, Michael J. Maney of Norton, Karen Maney of South Boston, and
the late Gail Fernandes and John Long. He was the brother in law of Donald Fernandes of Norton, the longtime companion of Ellen Wold-Grover of Norton, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, October 16th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton.
Burial will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.
