Obituary

Clara Dean Stricklin, age 86, passed away in Yalobusha General Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, May 24,2005. A member of Springdale Family Worship Center and the daughter of the late Clarence Goodwin and Lilly Bell Goodwin, she filled her life taking care of her family and as a homemaker for her nine children.

The family will receive friends at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Friday evening, May 27, 2005, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Saturday in Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home by Rev. Raymond Aven. Pall Bearers are: Loyd Defer, Sam McCain, Al Dollahite, Benny Dykes, Steve Shuffield, and Ricky Jenkins. Interment will follow in Elam Cemetery at Coffeeville, MS.

Survivors include: Five daughters, Shirley Baker of Water Valley, MS, Maxine Rose of El Campo, TX, Gladys Mitchell of Water Valley, MS, Sandra Melton of Water Valley, MS and Dorothy Schwinn of Water Valley, MS: Four sons, Eugene Stricklin of Water Valley, MS, James Stricklin of Water Valley, MS, Charles Stricklin of Water Valley, MS and David Stricklin of Tucson, AZ: two sisters, Fay Odom of Okalona, MS and Lena Hamilton of Socrenta, FL: two brothers, Lonnie Goodwin of Calhoun City, MS and Lamur Goodwin of Topeka, KS: She also leaves 35 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stricklin was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Stricklin on Jan 19, 1989.
