GILFORD – Fred Weston Payne, 68, of 16 Cat Path, was called home to his Heavenly Father and first wife, Mary Louise (Gorski) Payne, on Sunday, October 4, 2015. We are comforted to know that as he left this mortal life surrounded by his family and loved ones here on Earth there was a great reunion with loved ones in Heaven.
Fred was born on July 8, 1947 in Weymouth, Mass., the son of Gordon P. and Elizabeth J. (Vinton) Payne. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. Fred worked at Aavid Thermalloy from 1973 to 2013. Fred loved his family. He also loved the Savior and tried to emulate Him in all that he did. One of his favorite scriptures that truly testifies this is; “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.” (2 Nephi 25:26, The Book of Mormon).
His family includes his loving wife, Janet (Veloski) Payne, nine children; Jennifer Anne Knowlton, Jan Marie Payne, Adam Scott Payne, Theresa Marie Martindale, Rachel Elizabeth Payne, Brian Andrew Payne, Michelle Payne Walker, Jessica Payne and Heather Payne, Sons-in-law; Christian Paul Knowlton Sr., Matthew Keith Martindale and William Palmer Walker, grandchildren; Christian Paul Knowlton Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Mae Arnold Knowlton, Weston Andrew Knowlton, Mary Louise Martindale and Jacob Michael Martindale.
Calling hours will be held from 10Am to 12 Noon on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1244 Old North Main Street, Laconia. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 Noon, also at the church. Burial will be in the family plot at Bayside Cemetery in Laconia.
