Rosaire E. “Rosy” Charland, 78, of Woonsocket died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Anne W. (Longe) Charland. They were married on March 25, 1977.
Born in Southbridge, Massachusetts he was a son of the late Adelard and Alice (Pelletier) Charland. He was raised in Southbridge and resided in Dudley for a number of years. He was a resident of Woonsocket since 1975.
Rosy was employed by CVS for several years in the 1970s and worked as a truck driver for Garelick Farms for over 15 year until retiring in 1997.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Glenn R. Charland and his partner, Curtis, of Las Vegas, NV, three daughters Lisa Barnum and her husband, David, of FL, Darleen Frances McKinstry of Richmond NH, and Debra Cammarota and her husband, Christopher, of FL. He was the brother of Rev. George Charland (Diocese of Worcester) of East Brookfield, MA, Yvette Desourdy of Dudley and Cecile Rizner of Vernon, CT. He was the step-father of Kenneth White of Woonsocket, Deanna Gingrich-Creighton of Michigan, Cheryl Taylor and her partner, Aimee, of Richmond, RI. He was the grandfather of Rebecca Barnum, the late Joshua Barnum and step-grandfather of Ruby Kate Taylor, Stephen and Kayla Creighton and great-grandfather of Landon Josh Barnum and Teagan Olivia Dunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
