James E. Soares, 52, of New Bedford died unexpectedly on May 10, 2002.
He was the son of Manuel and Shirley (Peters) Soares of New Bedford.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was a graduate of New Bedford High School and UMass Dartmouth, where he received a degree in accounting.Mr. Soares served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Private A. Poirier Post 3260, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Donna Rosa of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Randall Soares and Steve Soares, both of New Bedford, and Pastor Manuel Soares, Jr., and his wife Pastor Theressa Soares, of Canton, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, May 14th at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday, May 13th from 4-8 PM.
Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
