James (Jim) McGregor, age 86, passed away on Friday, October, 2 at the Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. McGregor was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late William McGregor and Jane (Dundas) McGregor. Jim was born and raised in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High. He worked at Roland Industries for over 50 years as a Boiler/Fireman and Maintenance tech. Jim played ball for the American Legion and loved anything to do with the sport. He had a passion for anything to do with history and spending time outside in his garden and being surrounded by his family.
James was the husband of Edna (Cyr) McGregor of North Andover. Jim was the devoted father of Donna (McGregor) Fleming and her late husband George of North Andover, Arlene (McGregor) Adams of Derry, NH, and Jane McGregor of Tewksbury. He was the dear brother of Agnes (McGregor) Low and her husband Jim of Salem, NH, the late Jean McGregor, the late William McGregor, the late John (Jack) McGregor, the late Margie (McGregor) Dezan, and the late Robert (Bobby) McGregor. Jim was the loving grandfather of Kim (Fleming) DeVries and her husband Steve of Windham, NH, Michael Fleming and his wife Larissa of Raleigh, NC, John McGregor and his wife Renee of Tewksbury, Lauren (Adams) Morin and her husband Joe of Derry, NH, and Kyle Adams of Derry, NH. He was the cherished great grandfather of Paige, Anthony, Sam, James, Deacon, Gianna and Mayzie. Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
