Lizzie Hulett Dixon, 87, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Graveside services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Vaughn Tabernacle Cemetery, Telfair County, with Rev. Bill Weide officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dixon was born December 16, 1917, in Telfair County, Georgia, to the late George and Rachel Grantham Hulett. She lived in Telfair County and in Fitzgerald before moving to Jacksonville, Florida, where she spent the last 25 years. Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and a former employee of Dixie Peanut Company. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by four sons: Tommy Walker of Orange Park, FL, George Walker and Chester Walker, both of Plymouth, FL, and Andrew “Jack” Walker of Algood, TN; a step-son: Forest Talmadge Walker of Longwood, FL; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Becky Black of Helena, GA. She was preceded in death by two husbands: William Thomas Walker and Wilbert Carl Dixon, a daughter: Martha C. Clark, and three step-sons: James Walker, Lonnie Walker, and John Thomas Walker.
