
Petto, Nicholas Anthony a longtime Dedham, MA resident, passed away Thursday, October 1, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Isabelle (Essex) Petto. He is survived by his loving children, Suzanne Barletta and her husband Robert of Foxboro, and Richard Petto and his wife Rachel of Dedham. He was the cherished grandfather of Eric Barletta of Norton, Courtney LaBounty and her husband Keith of Blackstone, Jarrett, Zackery, Brady, and Nolan Petto all of Dedham. He is also survived by his loving sister Mary DeFazio of Melrose. He was also brother to the late Ida Mauriello of Malden and Michael Petto of Melrose. Born January 9, 1928, Nick grew up in Malden and was son to the late Josephine and Nicholas Petto. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947 as an airplane mechanic. He worked for Relief Printing in Boston for 27 years before bartending at the American Lunch in Norwood for 17 years. In 1987, he opened Rick’s Pub in Dedham where he cooked up the best lunches around until 2009. Nick was a small man with a huge heart. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, who loved their Papa dearly. He will be missed by all.
Funeral Service in the George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham, Monday October 5, at 1pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4-8pm.
