CARD of Brockton May 10, 2002 Marion A. (Hopwood) Card 86 years. Wife of the late Philip G. Card. Mother of Jack E. Card and his wife Anne of Brockton; Robert A. Card and his wife Diane of W. Bridgewater and Michael P. Card and his wife Ruth of Bridgewater. Grandmother of Jack, James, Stephanie, Derek, Jason and Michael. Sister of Myrtle Thompson of Bourne and the late Louise Newton, Everett, Robert and Jack Hopwood.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Rosary Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Mrs. Card died Friday evening at the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Brockton daughter of the late Alan and Mary (Creedon) Hopwood and remained a lifelong resident. She enjoyed spending her winters in Boynton Beach, Florida with her husband.

In her younger days Mrs. Card was a bookkeeper in her bother’s business Hoppy’s Oil Company in Brockton. She had also worked in the former McCarthy’s Department Store in Brockton.She had been a member of the Mothers Club of Brockton, the PM Club and the Brockton Garden Club.

She enjoyed bowling, traveling and arts & crafts.She had been a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton.

She is survived by her 3 sons, 6 grandchildren, one sister and several nieces and nephewsShe was the sister of the late Louise Newton, Everett, Robert and Jack Hopwood.
